Sway  128 - 3   Hyde   100 - 3

Back on League duty and defending an unbeaten record Adam Clark was joined as opener by his lanquid brother Ross as Alex Hall had decamped to Australia for a few months. Ross got off the mark with a six and was then promptly run out, however Adam made 19 and Joe Rodway retired on 27 leaving Terry Steadman and Steve How at the wicket. These two batted with a great deal of perception and trust mixing boundaries with plenty of good running between the wickets. How was eventually run out for 15 leaving new boy Steve Keen 1 ball as a non striker which Steadman lashed for 4 to finish 26 not out, W.Cobb 1-19 being the solitary wicket taker for Hyde.

Hyde's reply was up with the run rate for the first 8 overs mainly due to C.Shutler 27 retired and W.Hayward 22 but when Steadman removed Hayward a tight spell of bowling with How swung things in Sway's favour. Rodway returned to have D.N.Johnson caught off the wall by R.Clark and A.Morgan and M.Bird saw out the last overs leaving the total 28 runs short at 100-3.
