Sway continued their winning ways with a comprehensive 95 run drubbing of Milford on Sea 2nds. Batting first sway amassed 168 runs including 11 sixes, Alex Hall hit a quick 10 runs before being smartly caught off the bowling of Paul Wilkinson (1 – 37), this being a sole early success for Milford as Adam Clark and Joe Rodway both soon retired. Terry Steadman was soon to join them but not before Jack Walton with a lightning 22 ( 3 sixes ) and Ross Clark (4) were both run out. Rodway returned and amid a flurry of boundaries retired again with his score on 54 leaving Clark and Steadman both not out.
Milford's reply never really got going, Rodway (2 – 30) removing the veteran Wilkins for 7 caught nicely down the legside by keeper A. Clark and bowling R. Varley. With D. Slack run out, only skipper Alan Varley got runs. With Varley retiring, Steadman (1 – 7) bowled B. Torah for 14 leaving the impressive Walton (2 – 5) to wrap things up including bowling the returning Varley for 28. |
